Dancing Queen

Sadie started a tap/ballet dance class a few weeks ago. I'd call this her first official "class" of some sort. We did that mommy and me gymnastics back in Germany, but this just feels more real. And ever since we bought her a leotard and skirt, it has felt more real than ever. I swear, you put a little girl in these clothes and she becomes an instant dancer.

Her class is on Wednesday, and on Tuesday night I told her that she had dance the next day. First thing she did when she woke up was get on her entire dance outfit and all the things I needed to to her hair.

Love those "noisy shoes." That's what her teacher Miss Polly called them.

She also has this wand that makes the perfect dance partner. Silly girl.

Just beaming.

I didn't take any pictures in the actual studio because I wasn't sure if it was allowed, plus sometimes I feel dumb busting out the giant camera in new public settings. So we took some of her dancing in the living room.

Props are always nice...Sadie loves this umbrella.

She has only had two classes, but she already improved so much from week one to week two. Don't get me wrong, she is often the student being told to stay in her spot (Sadie has been called a "free spirit" more than once in her life...), but she's getting the hang of it and following a lot more of the dance moves and warm ups. It is hilarious to watch and I cannot wait for Dusty to come to her class while he is here visiting. He is going to melt.

Cute. Cute. Cute! Welcome to the world of dance (of which I still have no clue about...at least my girls still play soccer in the spring!)

So cute! I love that she is doing tap! I did that for about 5 years in my early tweens/teens and I still miss it.
